WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Oversee the health and performance of a set of DAS systems to ensure that KPIs are met and that required maintenance and repairs are made within Service Level Agreements.
Receive, act on, update, and resolve tickets related to DAS troubles and Service requests.
Troubleshot DAS alarms, customer complaints and signal level or quality issues.
Perform routine or annual Preventive Maintenance Inspections.
Conduct On-Site benchmark testing and post processing.
Wireless Service Provider call testing and Public Safety radio testing.
Complete routine work tickets and warranty paperwork in a timely fashion.
Commissioning, Integration and Optimization of passive and active DAS installations.
Stay current in the knowledge and application of In-Building Solution product implementations and on various other types of new or emerging technologies.
System evaluation, reporting, and support of maintenance contract customers, including on-call rotation.
Coordinate with Wireless Carrier Providers, AHJs, customers, and other parties as necessary to complete responsibilities in a timely and professional manner.
Participate in training for necessary technologies, policies, and methods of procedure.
Maintain a technical aptitude with a strong desire to learn and grow.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to read electrical and mechanical diagrams.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
2 years of full-time experience supporting operations of Public Safety and Wireless Service Provider DAS projects including troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, re-commissioning, and optimization.
Outstanding customer focus with excellent verbal and written communication skills with fluency in the English language.
Intermediate level expertise and troubleshooting skills on In-Building systems.
Intermediate level expertise in Field Engineer tools: Spectrum Analyzer, CW generator, PCTEL (or equivalent) data collection scanner, OTDR, Handset (UE) testing, Fluke cable tester.
A valid driver’s license.
Able to obtain security clearances, pass background checks, and drug tests as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & TRAITS:
Ability to work overtime, evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as required.
Adherence to all safety rules and regulations as directed by OSHA, CE, and the job site customer.
Has the ability to participate in a rotating 24-hour on-call customer maintenance contract program.
Maintain a safe and neat work area and accurate inventory of tools and test equipment.
DAS OEM certifications, i.e., JMA, Comba, Fiplex, ADRF, CommScope, Corning, etc.
Typing skills.
Valued team player and works in parallel with peers and cross-functionally.
Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Participates and works well within cross-functional teams and customers.
Ability to provide training and guidance to junior engineers and co-ops.
YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
On call availability for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday – Friday, with rare 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Daily travel to sites in North Carolina and South Carolina area required. Travel outside of the Carolinas may be necessary at times.
