Mott MacDonald Group Hydraulic Infrastructure Evaluation Lead in Morristown, New Jersey

This position will lead the Hydraulic Infrastructure Evaluation (HIE) Group. Responsibilities include managing the execution and delivery of projects, coordination with project managers and clients, assisting with preparation of proposals, and managing and scheduling HIE staff. The applicant will supervise and perform field inspections of sewer systems, maintain and install temporary flow metering equipment, operate internal video inspection equipment and vans, enter data into the computer, and use specialized software. This position will require entry into sewer manholes in accordance with OSHA and Confined Space requirements.

Qualified applicant should be capable of managing medium to large scale HIE projects with a wide variety of scope of services. This individual should possess the following skills:

  • Prepares or directs preparation of HIE studies and reports and recommends further study or action.
  • Prepares or directs preparation of maps, specifications, plans, and designs for HIE projects.
  • Calculates cost and determines feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data.
  • Supplies technical advice and counsel to other professionals.
  • Utilizes experienced professional judgment to research and analyze data.
  • Provides mentoring, reference, oversight, and supervision to HIE Staff.
  • Ensure quality and completeness of computer data entry, reporting, and record keeping.
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles for HIE Group.

Field work primarily includes, but not limited to:

  • Confined space entries
  • Sewer inspection and evaluation
  • Flow metering
  • Sewer internal video inspection
  • Smoke and dye testing
  • Field surveying
  • Contractor observation

Candidate Specifications:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree and a valid NJ Driver's license.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience is preferred.
  • They must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Candidates should have strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Technicians must be able to work a flexible work schedule, with possibly early morning/late evening and weekend/holiday work possible, especially during wet weather conditions
  • Having completed a Confined SpaceTraining program is preferred.
  • Able to complete NASCO Certification within 3 months.
