Toppan prints natural wood, stone reproductions, and trendy abstracts on rotogravure printing presses. Toppan's facility located in Morgantown PA opened in 1988. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE & REPAIR TECHNICIAN

As an Industrial Electro-Mechanical Technician, you play a key role in keeping the facility systems and equipment operations running and leading continuous improvement projects. Tasks include daily inspections, preventive maintenance and repair work orders.

Minimum Qualifications for An Industrial Maintenance & Repair Technician

As an Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be required to show a strong knowledge of Industrial Electrical Components (120V to 480V motors); steam systems, hydraulics; pneumatics; mechanical maintenance; blueprint reading, LOTO and industrial test equipment.

  • Knowledge of test equipment for relays and circuit breakers
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office software (i.e., Excel, Word, and Power Point)
  • Ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams
  • Ability to analyze problems, recommends solutions, and initiating repairs
  • Attention to detail and excellent follow up skills
  • Must be self-motivated with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • High attention to detail
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, diagnostic hardware, hand powered and pneumatic tools to perform work.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoot and locate problems in a variety of equipment, controls, and systems
  • Troubleshoot boiler and steam problems
  • Troubleshoot and repair compressed air systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair pumping and mixing systems
  • Perform routine facilities maintenance
  • Perform preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems and equipment
  • Assist other technicians with assignments as needed and provides appropriate support
  • Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance
  • Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, confined space safety, and wearing PPE as required
  • Operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, diagnostic hardware, hand powered and pneumatic tools to perform work
  • Must be flexible in the day-to-day activities nd scheduling for the benefit of the printing operation. Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor

Primary equipment presently in use at Toppan Interamerica:

  • Rotogravure presses for printing of papers and vinyl films
  • Surface-wind Rewinders for the Inspection of printed product
  • RTOs -- Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers for Air Quality Compliance
  • 50K Waste Heat Boiler and 700 hp Gas-Fired Boiler and related systems
  • 400-ton Air Cooled Rotary Screw Chiller
  • One (1) Cooling Tower
  • Various Hydraulic systems for the Oxidizers, Presses, Ink Dispense System, etc.
  • Three (3) 100 HP Air Compressors
  • Other various related laboratory and facility equipment

Hours:

Currently we have one openings

All training is on 1st Shift

  • 3rd Shift (Sun 6pm to 6am, Mon Th 11pm to 7am)
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs
  • Must be able to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color coding
  • Flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, and kneel repetitively during shift
  • Ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for a shift
  • Ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for a shift
  • Ability to walk extensively throughout the plant for a shift.
