About the role This position is responsible for performing the first piece, in-process, and final inspections on the products in assigned area of responsibility. Responsibilities Supports a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures Performs inspections of products at various phases (incoming, first/last piece, in-process, and final) to established specifications which may include cosmetic, dimensional, and functional characteristics Interprets blueprints, drawings, specifications, and procedures to perform inspections, tests, or other job functions Identifies and labels non-conforming products and coordinates the segregation of non-conforming products to the appropriate location Dispositions non-conforming products as directed by a material review board (MRB) or other authority Selects gauges according to the feature or characteristic to be measured. Uses established Go / No Go gauges, optical comparators, and measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, thread plug, pin gauge, ring gauge, radius gauge, etc. Creates and maintains quality records of all inspections and tests performed either on paper or electronically as required Participates in root cause analysis as part of an 8D or CAR issued in response to an internal audit, quality concern, or other manufacturing issues Ensures work is completed in accordance with departmental documentation and QMS requirements.
