About the role The Finance Manager is responsible for effective planning, record-keeping, reporting, analysis and management of all financial aspects of plant operations. This position ensures alignment of financial performance with Business Unit and Corporate strategies. Responsible for identifying potential issues and making recommendations that would ensure appropriate controls and improve financial performance. This position also effectively develops and manages the payroll function. This position requires maintaining a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail. Responsibilities Reports actual plant results against operating plans. Analyzes, implements, and interprets monthlyresults and variances, highlighting key findings and trends to management along with recommendations for improvement. Responsible for working with plant management in the preparation of the annual manufacturing budget as well as development of overhead rates. Includes establishing guidelines and procedures for budget and forecast development and analysis, ensuring alignment with corporate requirements, guidance, and calendar / schedule. Develops, maintains, and analyzes timely and accurate financial data and reports and communicates the information in the summary or detail level appropriate for the user(s) and providing important and relevant insight. Advises management on manufacturing’s financial operations and its impact on company and business unit objectives. Monitors inventory levels and advises management of inventory-related issues and variances including excess / obsolete inventories, scrap, and inventory adjustments. Ensures adherence to cycle count policies, auditing cycle count results as well as performing periodic cycle count observations and audits. Ensures adherence to proper procedures and controls during physical inventory counts. Analyzes and reports manufacturing and variance results against budget, inventory levels / turns, and other key metrics. Implements policies and procedures to ensure that financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation and corporate record retention guidelines. Responsible for supporting financial audits by internal or external entities. Manages the acquisition of capital assets and ensures that assets are properly recorded, tagged, amortized, and disposed in adherence with corporate policies and procedures. Administers and maintains plant financial accounting processes for cash management, accounts payable, and petty cash in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Corporate policies and procedures. Ensures proper controls and financial integrity of data through the monitoring and review of procedures, providing recommendations and reporting any issues to plant and business unit management as necessary. Keeps abreast of current trends and practices in financial management, reporting and requirements. Performs other duties as required or requested by business unit, plant, and corporate management. Manages the budgeting, reporting, and Payroll groups, including but not limited to hiring, training, developing, managing and assigning work. Coaches direct reports and evaluates and rewards performance. Establishes and maintains regular communication with staff and encourages open employee communication. Develops employees by regularly providing feedback (both positive and negative), coaching as necessary and providing professional development opportunities to promote and maximize productivity, responsibility, performance and job satisfaction. Practices a participative management style that advocates teamwork. Provides leadership which models an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, meeting commitments and attainment of Leviton’s mission and goals. Works schedule and hours necessary to support payroll, inventory, year-end and other activities and deadlines. Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
