In this important position, you will be a Senior Linux Admin in charge of developing, implementing, and overseeing systems and infrastructure that are based on Linux. Your extensive understanding of Linux operating systems, networking, and security will be crucial in guaranteeing the dependability, effectiveness, and security of the client's critical systems. In addition, you will be tasked with leading younger team members and addressing challenging technical issues, which will greatly aid in the ongoing enhancement of goods and services. Full-time, permanent, on-site employment is available for this South Jersey-based role.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, deploy, and manage Linux-based infrastructure and systems in accordance with customer specifications and industry best practices.

  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability by optimizing the performance of Linux servers.Investigate and fix intricate problems pertaining to network setups,

  • Linux operating systems, and application compatibility.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps and Software Engineering, to support application deployments and integrations on Linux platforms.

  • Design and implement security measures to safeguard Linux environments from potential threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Automate routine tasks using scripting languages

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Linux engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Proven experience as a Linux Engineer or a related role with a focus on Linux system administration and engineering.

  • Extensive knowledge of Linux distributions, including CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu, or Debian.

  • Solid understanding of Linux server virtualization and containerization technologies, such as VMware, KVM, and Docker.

  • Strong expertise in Linux networking, TCP/IP protocols, and firewall configurations.

  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-based Linux deployments.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues effectively.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with clients and team members.
