The Work
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a part of our MK41 Vertical Launching System team supporting Launchers & Weapons programs in Moorestown, New Jersey and assemblies across various platforms in the Integrated Warfare Systems & Sensors business. Responsibilities include:
• Performing mechanical integration tasks for Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) of MK41 on international platforms
• Acting as primary engineering point of contact
• Managing mechanical interfaces of the launching system with host ship
• Producing installation drawings, and presenting to and fielding questions from international customers.
The selected candidate will have a strong foundation of technical principles, theories and concepts, with history of continual development as an engineer. The selected candidate will also have demonstrable experience with presentation and communication with customer representatives.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with large scale engineering programs.
• Working experience with 2D and 3D computer-aided design, with use of CREO application strongly preferred.
• Experience preparing and presenting briefing materials to customer organizations, such as at formal design reviews.
• Willingness to support frequent international travel
• Ability to obtain & maintain a DoD clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship required.
Desired Skills:
• Experience in defense-industry engineering/production
• Experience preparing cost estimates for technical proposals and/or knowledge of cost account management (CAM) and earned value management (EVM) rules
• Experience with cross-functional coordination (other engineering disciplines, operations, finance, etc.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
