Position Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the operation and upkeep of machinery in the Hatchery and any other place on the complex that a mechanic may be needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • A maintenance mechanic will start the shift by making sure everything in the processing area is running efficiently.Then the mechanic will look over the assigned job tasks for that day.
  • Must be able to work well with others, communication with others, and have good decision-making ability.
  • Desire to be part of a proactive, motivated maintenance team.
  • Maintenance mechanic will perform the PMs during production run time on a weeklybasis and report deficiency to supervise.
  • required to enter data into SAP.
  • Welding and other maintenance skills desired as well and a willingness to learn.
  • Must be able to lift 85 lbs. and be able to work at high heights.
  • Must be able to do administrative duties and records, ie (P.Ms, logs, etc.)
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and possibly have to work different shifts (day, evening, or night).
  • Prefer at least two years experience. Must complete a successful background check.
  • Other duties as directed.

Basic Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to comprehend simple instructions.
  • Ability to apply common sense.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees).
  • Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day.
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly.
  • Must be a team player and be willing to work close to other employees at some stations. (Less than 3 feet apart.)
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Good hand and eye coordination required.
  • Food or production experience preferred.
