Eaton Corporation Test & Verification Lead Engineer in Moon Township, Pennsylvania

Eaton’s Connected Solutions team is currently seeking a Test & Verification Lead Engineer. This role is located out of Moon Township, PA and offers a hybrid work schedule.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91,500 - $134,200 a year.

The Connected Solutions group is looking for a Test & Verification Engineer who can help manage and lead our testing programs for connected circuit protection, EV charging, and V2H. The Test & Verification Engineer is responsible for component and system level test activities.

The Test & Verification Engineer will work with our internal product teams (including engineering and marketing) to understand product requirements, create thorough test plans, participate in conducting tests, and document/report results with recommendations to the team. You will specify required types of test equipment, work with vendors for quotations, coordinate installation and maintenance, and help establish new reliability testing expectations.

What you’ll do:

  • Interface with a team of multi-disciplinary engineers and technicians plus marketing and program managers who are responsible for NPI development tasks. The tasks include understanding design requirements, validation testing, certification and collaborating with manufacturing teams and commercial partners.

  • Responsible for detailed test plans and results reports incorporating design intent and documented acceptance results which are part of our stage gate process for new product development activities.

  • Participates in the development, testing and certification for components and systems

  • Work with other Eaton labs and external labs for quotations, testing and results reviews.

  • Develops reliability test procedure for consumer electronic components

  • This position will build and lead a high performing electronics, firmware and hardware team with the ability to identify and utilize the latest in power electronics, switching and metering components along with robust communication platforms for control and data streaming.

  • Keeps current on changing technologies and best practices.

  • Proficiency in hands-on product testing, use of lab equipment and diagnostic tools/equipment.

  • Navigates through ambiguity and deals with the paradox of making quality decisions amidst uncertainty.

  • Understands risks and puts a plan in place to minimize the impact and learns in the process

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution

  • Five (5+) years of experience in electrical power product testing

  • Authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in engineering from an accredited institution

  • Experience developing test and reliability programs for electronics

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Proficiency in power electronics, digital design, best practice firmware and connected components.

  • Strong understanding of systems design

  • Understanding of safety related UL standards and associated testing

  • Sales of Residential Products >$500M
