Eaton Corporation Quality Director - Protection, Control, & Solutions in Moon Township, Pennsylvania

Eaton’s Protection, Control, and Solutions Group (PCS) is hiring a Quality Director in the United States. This position will be based near any main Eaton Electrical Americas site as remote work. This position requires 50% travel.

What you’ll do:

Eaton has an opening for a Quality Director for the Protection, Control, and Solutions Group (PCS) of Electrical Sectors Americas.

This position is the most senior Quality leader in a $3B business with 5 different divisions, & 25 manufacturing locations. You will be responsible to develop and execute the Quality strategy for the group. You will lead the functional teams to provide the highest levels of value to the business that quality can deliver, making sure the quality level of the products produced and supplied to Eaton and external customers are best in class.

You will be responsible for plant quality systems, customer satisfaction, process improvement and driving year over year performance improvements consistent with annual profit plan targets including Customer and Supplier DPPM, CONC, etc. Also, provide functional support for development and administration of product warranty programs, EQMS, and maturity growth in OpA and EBSA at the group level to improve customer satisfaction and global competitiveness. Partnering with Manufacturing Strategy and I4.0 teams to execute the strategy and leverage industry 4.0 concepts of interconnectivity, automation, machine learning, and real-time data to create a more data driven manufacturing ecosystem that can rapidly mitigate product quality challenges and optimize manufacturing quality operational performance to delight customers. You will Build organizational capability and Quality function pipelines by mentoring and developing functional and leadership talent.

Essential responsibilities:

• Provide Quality Leadership across the division to drive collaborative strategies and solutions to ensure active leadership from management and ownership by all employees. Regularly communicates and demonstrates the Eaton ethics, values and philosophy such that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization. Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals and philosophy, encourages continuous improvement, and builds customer relationships.

• Champion the Quality Management System (EQMS) within the Group. Identify and lead prevention-based initiatives to address common barriers for divisions & plants to enable sustainable improvements. Oversee effectiveness of internal & external QMS/EQMS assessments, including support of OpA & EBE through the identification of associated Operational & site Quality management action plans.

• Coordinate Operational strategies & deployment for effective quality processes and tools. Leverage and integrate MES, I4.0, Six Sigma, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Supplier Management, PPAP, Process Capability, Risk Assessment, Root Cause investigations, 8D, CAR/ DMR, and WISPER.

• Drive key quality metrics including: Quality cost-of-non-conformance (Quality CONC), Supplier and Customer DPPM, Customer Escapes (HSCQE), Manufacturing Yields. Utilize appropriate benchmarking and comparative data to drive continuous performance improvement and speed of response. Provide functional leadership to Plant Operations & Quality management to improve performance, including the identification and standardization of best practices.

• Build organizational capability across PCS by supporting and leading training strategies to build Quality competencies consistent with functional excellence tool set, I&D glidepath targets, and talent recruitment/retention. Perform competency gap assessment and provide input to development plans for direct and functional reports.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in quality, manufacturing or engineering

  • Senior leadership experience

  • Multi-division / multi-site leadership experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

  • Must have availability to travel 50% up to 75% based on the business needs

Skills:

  • Ability to demonstrate proven experience in process development, implementation and sustainability

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written

  • Ability to lead effectively in a matrix organization, in virtual teams (across different locations), and cross-cultural environments

  • Ability to effectively interact with others, establishing open, candid, and trusting relationships

  • Ability to influence others through utilization of leadership skills

  • Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, including seeing the big picture and motivating others towards common goals

  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills and understanding of problem solving tools/methods (Six Sigma, 8D, etc), goal setting, and performance tracking

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

The expected annual salary range for this role is $153749.97 - $225499.96 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
