DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: JOB SUMMARY The Director of Quality (Design-Build) is accountable for providing planning, leadership, coordination, and management for the design-build vertical within Michael Baker International's (MBI) Quality Management System (QMS) development, implementation, and continuous improvement.

This position maintains a relentless focus on quality and continuous improvement with the vision of meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations, and is highly proficient with the technical, leadership, and communication skills required to manage a complex QMS.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure quality processes are fully defined, documented and communicated; create new and update existing processes where needed * Ensure quality plans are developed and disseminated to project teams before work begins on projects * Ensure project specific QMS meets all customer Quality requirements and aligns with Corporate QMS, including: * Oversee Project QMS development checklist * Review/Assess/Audit all Project QMS (developing & finalization) * Ensure that the Quality processes are in place and refined to provide final closeout of projects * Maintain relationships and communication tools as needed with: * Subconsultants, suppliers and other key project personnel to verify that the quality of the design services can be reasonably assured * Engineering managers and key subject matter experts (SMEs) to verify that design quality can be reasonably assured * Post design/construction managers and key SMEs to verify that construction quality can be reasonably assured * Develop and communicate the performance standards and metrics by which the quality will be measured * Oversee development and implementation of an organizational and responsibility matrix for the Quality team * Establish, implement and communicate KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for monitoring QMS implementation and effectiveness for design and construction support/post-design services * Develop regular status reports for the Operating Committee and project steering committees, detailing status of QMS and recommending actions to be taken. * Implement and oversee the execution of design-build Quality Governance, including: * Develop and implement a design-build audit procedure and audit schedule * Develop an integrated Project audit schedule * Implement and report the Quality Performance Rate (QPR) for portfolio projects * Ensure corrective and preventive actions are developed for critical findings, and then implemented throughout the company * Ensure Root Cause Analysis is performed for all critical Quality incidents; then following up with the implementation of corrective actions throughout the Company * Provide Quality Management Leadership throughout the design-build vertical including project development, employee development, project support, and sponsorship of Quality initiatives, including: * Design-build Quality Events (i.e., Quality Alert / Quality Flash) * Project Kick-off Meetings * Cost of Quality and Cost of Poor Quality * Oversee the onboarding and training of Quality Management Personnel * Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations * Participate in industry, client, and community relations to enhance and promote Michael Baker International

EXPERIENCE 20+ years of industry or related experience. Will consider experience in lieu of years' experience.. Position will require an ability to assist with a large portfolio of projects. Successful experience as a Quality Manager and / or experience managing a large organization's QMS.

EDUCATION Degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Strong technical proficiency in Quality-related areas, including ISO 9001, ACI, ASME, related legislation, auditing, and data analysis. * Ability to make recommendations, take action, and make proactive decisions based on technical proficiency. * Experience and acumen required to anticipate client requirements, work proactively regarding risk and claim management, and work with full autonomy. * Superior presentation skills and verbal / written communication skills. * Proven relationship-building and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders in a team environment. * Superior leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with internal & external customers. * Proficiency using a computer and communication tools such as email, internet, and Microsoft products.

COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is $131,176 to $235,620. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
