Description

Build relationships and deliver coffee and tea products to new and established customers within assigned area to increase sales. Sell allied products and penetrate existing accounts to grow incremental sales. Maintain and repair equipment. Keep track of product inventory. THIS IS A CREDIT SENSITIVE POSITION.

  1. Grows and maintain relationships with customers from the top to the bottom. Sells additional products such as paper products, tableware, juices, creamers, sweeteners, soft drink products and additional coffee and tea. Actively works with RD salespersons to increase the number of RD products sold to existing accounts. Looks for new business along route, and makes referrals to sales representative. Inventories customers product on hand and determines appropriate amount for next delivery. Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries or products.

2.Travels through assigned territory to call on established customers. Delivers expected quantities of coffee and tea products. (around 100 miles per day)

3.Checks inventory on truck and loads truck with items needed for delivery and customer emergencies. May be required to assist in inventory and ordering duties in warehouse locations.

4. Maintains coffee and tea equipment located on customer site.

5. Completes mileage logs, vehicle inspection logs and route cards. Has truck serviced at regular intervals.

6. Balances daily receivables and makes bank deposits. Monitors customer receivables to ensure customer is within credit terms on payments. Assists in collecting past due accounts.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  1. Knowledge of sales practices and principles.
  2. Knowledge of business math.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  4. Excellent customer service skills.
  5. Proficient skill with personal computer and job-related software including Microsoft Office products.
  6. Ability to drive 16 - 18 ft. box truck.

Education and Experience Required:High school or GED equivalent plus 2 years job-related route sales experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Coffee/tea service experience preferred.

Licenses or Certifications Required:Valid drivers license. Good driving record - motor vehicle report meets company standards. DOT Medical Certification.
