  • Paid Time Off & Holidays Physical Therapist Schedule:

  • 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday Objective: To provide ongoing therapy evaluations and treatments and education to residents in a timely manner per physician's orders. To provide leadership and supervision of physical therapy services to other physical therapists, assistants and aides. The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients, communicates with families, physicians and other health team members and maintains appropriate documentation of services including MDS responsibilities complying with State and Federal regulations. Participates in on-going facility meetings and conducts in-service and training for facility staff on ongoing basis in restorative and maintenance techniques.

Required Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Graduate from a physical therapy curriculum approved by the American Physical Therapy Association and is currently licensed as a Physical Therapist in state where practicing. 2. Able to understand medical terminology and how it applies to physical therapy, to communicate with residents, staff, physicians, and to prepare meaningful reports. 3. Spatial and form perception are necessary to visualize anatomical structure of the disabled part of the body and the relation to therapeutic devices in remedial actions. 4. Coordination and dexterity are necessary when treating residents and handling therapeutic equipment. 5. Ability to communicate with residents to establish favorable attitude and to motivate the residents to desired cooperation and effort in his/her rehabilitation development. 6. Possesses adequate strength and endurance to meet the physical demands involved in moving residents and equipment into position for treatment and in manipulating equipment and residents. 7. Be willing to work weekends and holidays, as needed, on a rotational schedule. 8. Be willing to travel and work at other VOA facilities, as needed. 2 2022 9. Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.

Accurately screens and evaluates residents and provides PT upon written order of physician within twenty-four (24) hours of referral. a. Evaluates each resident and initiates any ordered treatment(s). b. Maintains a line of communication with appropriate agencies for prior and continuing authorization of therapy treatment. c. Communicates a report regarding the residents' progress to attending physician. d. Consults with the physician regarding residents' change of condition as indicated dur ng the course of treatment. e. Re-evaluates the resident in conjunction with the attending physician. f. Supervises the operation of physical therapy services to ensure an acceptable level of performance from assistants and support staff. 2. Prepares and maintains treatment records with evaluation and progress notes; including: a. Physician's orders. b. Objectives of treatments. c. Plan of care. d.
