About This Role

By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to participate in exciting sourcing and process improvement opportunities to support delivery of CAE strategic vision.

Collaborating and working alongside our global Technology and Product teams, you will identify, analyze, evaluate the right vendors, right technology, and support the growth of CAE.

GPSM is composed of around 100 employees, located in diverse locations globally. Our team is part of the Indirect Procurement team. This position will be reporting into the Senior Manager, Product technology team composed of 4 Strategic Sourcing Managers that collaborate closely with 3 Procurement Analysts, and 2 procurement coordinators.

The team members are from different backgrounds and all walks of life, all aiming to achieve the department’s vision, and playing a vital role in CAE’s digital transformation.

Primary Responsibility

The SSM is responsible for the formulation and implementation of IT Sub-Category Strategies. The Category Lead is expected to develop category plans aligned with CAE’s Global Digital Roadmap.

The SSM will be responsible to lead the execution of the sourcing strategies as per the category plans, and will conduct market intelligence to identify opportunities and channel innovation.

The individual will also be accountable for managing critical supplier agreements, strategic sourcing, monitoring and evaluating and improving supplier performance, developing the supplier base and conducting research to support the category strategy.

Characteristics of successful Strategic Sourcing Manager (SSM)

The SSM must also be an effective and influential change agent, working with senior leadership to drive sustainable changes to how the organization sources technology.

In this role, the individual will regularly interact with key IT leaders and business leaders to balance cost, risk and need for speed to ensure that the business is able to realize its objectives.

The skills to influence and drive change, combined with the drive to deliver results per the goals set, will enable the SSM to support the rapid evolution of digital business.
