Job Information

Google Data Center Technician, Technical Operations (English, French) in Montreal, Quebec

Minimum qualifications:

  • Diploma of College Studies in Computer Science or Electronics, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience with hardware and operating systems (e.g., Linux), and networking protocols.

  • Experience in network administration, and with light coding or scripting.

  • Ability to communicate in English and French fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience working with Linux (Red Hat, Slackware, Fedora, SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, Gentoo) or Unix (Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, BSD), or another similar operating system.

  • Understanding of intermediate OS, PC hardware and networking concepts, tools and protocols.

  • Contribute to and lead efforts/projects in the deployment, maintenance, and support of current and new data center infrastructure.

  • Lead complex troubleshooting and resolve critical or escalated technical issues over a population of affected equipment.

  • Help test and troubleshoot new complex server hardware components and designs.

  • Configure and troubleshoot OS-related issues on servers.
