Ryder System Finance Segment Manager - REMOTE in Montpelier, Vermont

Under the responsibility of the Finance Director, the Finance Business Partner is responsible for supporting the Customer Logistics Director (DCL) in all areas of accounting and financial management. This individual is responsible for streamlining and continuously improving accounting functions and working to satisfy the client's reporting needs.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare quarterly forecast and the budget each year for provision of services during the next contract year (reviewed monthly) based on information provided by the client related to throughput volume, controllable costs and non-controllable costs.

  • Prepare month end report of all actual costs and service fees including:o Actual versus budget varianceso Ongoing list of commitments for capital acquisitionso Tracking of Change Requests and spend vs. Budgets

  • Responsible for internal month end close process including preparation of journal vouchers and monthly financial forecast.

  • Participate in various miscellaneous projects as required.

  • Retain records to enable client to audit at any time.

  • Attend and actively participate in all Governance Board meetings and presentations of Current Financial and Inventory Result.

  • Manage the performance of team members and resolve performance issues.

  • Verify capital asset acquisition against capital budget and seek client approval for overruns.

  • Oversee preparation of monthly client billing including reporting on variances for controllable costs, non-controllable costs and other variances.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • High degree of initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Must be computer literate and able to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint required).

  • Ability to work under strict deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in finance, accounting or business. A combination of other education and experiences will be considered.

  • Eight (8) years or more in accounting and finance preferred

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Professional Accountant (CPA)

Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; market data/ranges; applicant’s skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees or certifications, etc. The salary for this position ranges from $90,000- $100,000 annually

Salaries may be supplemented with a bonus as applicable and/or as business conditions allow.
