SAN JUAN COUNTY Seasonal Laborer in MONTICELLO, Utah

General Purpose

This is a seasonal position for individuals that are semi-skilled requiring heavy manual labor.  Works under the direction of the Road Operations Manager or under other assigned personnel.

Essential Functions

  • Will operate and maintain light duty vehicles, chain saws, shovels and various mechanized and non-mechanized hand tools.

  • Assists with installing cattle guards and culverts.

  • Assists with patching roads, filling cracks in asphalt roads and clearing rocks off of roadways.

  • Performs any and all related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must possess a valid Utah driver's license, with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to report for work on time and to perform the duties of the job for the entire workday.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  •  Has the ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Has the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • Has some knowledge in the operation of hand and portable equipment.

  • Has the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
