This Montgomery, Texas area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. This role's duties will require you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. This role is a great opportunity for someone who wants to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This is a job where someone with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets can thrive.

Your responsibilities

  • Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Partake in various department-wide initiatives

  • Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

  • Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

  • Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

  • Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

    Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.

  • At least 2 years accounting experience

  • Month end close assistance

  • Account reconciliations

  • Sales tax experience

  • Restaurant accounting experience
