Renaissance Curriculum Manager, ELA/Literacy in Montgomery, Alabama

As a Curriculum Manager, you will be responsible for optimizing Nearpod’s ELA core product offering. You will work closely with project manager(s), content team member(s), and independent contractors to ensure the product aligns with academic standards, research-based pedagogy, and the needs of teachers and administrators. You will elevate concerns and/or barriers to ensure creation and production needs are met.

We are seeking a hardworking, self-motivated candidate to perform the following functions:

  • Provide overall curriculum development leadership for K-12 ELA products, from building a team of content experts to executing content development.

  • Develop And Implement scope of content projects in accordance with company’s strategic vision, pedagogical guidelines and frameworks, and production resources.

  • Optimize the curriculum offering for K-12 students across ELA.

  • Oversee and supervise writing/reviewing of curriculum resources that maximize Nearpod’s interactive features to engage teachers and learners.

  • Develop prototypes to define direction and market fit.

  • Develop training resources to provide consistency across all curriculum K-12 ELA resources.

  • Collaborate with independent contractors, creative team, production team, and others to define and execute projects.

  • Align and organize curriculum resources to Common Core and specific state standards.

  • Ensure project deadlines are met on-time and within budget and scope.

  • Research and support current trends, best practices, and innovative ways to provide ELA instruction and remain current and knowledgeable regarding standards shifts or changes.

  • Analyze standards and other curriculum requirements to develop exemplars, scopes and sequences, and other project content-planning.

  • Mobilize research to create standards-based curriculum resources to meet the needs of our wide market.

  • Support sales and marketing through curating content for website promotions and developing and maintaining resources such as implementation guides, alignment docs, and demo lessons.

Education and work experience:

  • Bachelor’s (BS or BA) in education, literacy, or a field related to English; masters preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years experience as a K-12 ELA leader with knowledge of pedagogy, standards, and instructional design.

  • Previous experience managing and executing curriculum development, preferably for an educational technology company or large K-12 school district Tech skills.

  • Experience using educational technology tools in creative ways.

  • Proficient in MS office applications.

  • Virtual meeting software proficiency Content Development Skills.

  • Excellent understanding of K-12 instructional approaches and best practices.

  • Excellent writing and research skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; values high-quality work.

  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and practices.

  • Ability to create content that is inclusive of all learners.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Provide actionable feedback to curriculum developers Self-management and team skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team.

  • Ability to manage and lead individuals to grow and evolve.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Salary Range: $74,000-$102,000.
