PURPOSE:

 The Software Engineer II is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and implementing software projects and tasks.  The Software Engineer II will interface directly with user clients about their systems and ensure their systems are functioning correctly. This position responds to production problems and implement immediate resolution efforts related business applications/systems for Hyundai/Kia Motors Manufacturing.

Essential Functions:

• Develops, integrates and implements applications components including front-end development, server-side development and database integration. 

• Plays a direct role in programming, maintenance, technical support, documentation and administration of web-centric applications. 

• Researches, tracks and understands new web technologies to provide technical leadership in developing service applications and analyzing business requirements as they pertain to intranet and external Internet-related systems. Typically members of the IT function, this role is focused on the system - and not the content - of company network technologies used for internal and external client applications such as with Internet-, intranet-, or extranet-based applications.  

• Uses tools and programming languages, including but not limited to C#, C++, Java, XML, HTML, CGI, ASP, multimedia applications, database interactions and data modeling tools to accomplish assigned projects. 

• Builds applications using Internet Development tools for one or more platforms and applications. 

• Provides written design documents, test plans and test results.

• Establishes and communicates standards to manage cost and ensure continuity of applications. 

• May work with outside vendors in developing tests to ensure feature functionality.

• Performs all other duties as assigned by management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY - N/A

DECISION MAKING/DISCRETION - Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.  

RESULTS - Ability to present and convey towards various audience types – All levels up and down.

STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT - Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

EDUCATION - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software design OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years' experience in the IT field, 3 years or more application development experiences,

    Large/enterprise application development experience is preferred.

    TECHNICAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

    • 3 to 5+ years' experience in the IT field.

• 3 years or more application development experiences 

• Large/Enterprise application development experience preferred

• Experience with SAP Fiori or other web User Interface technologies (e.g.: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and Web IDE).

• SAP UI5 related technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery.

• Front-end JavaScript frameworks such as Vue, React, and Angular

• Back-end frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Node.js, and ASP.NET

• Content Management Systems (CMSs) such as WordPress, Joomla, and Squarespace

• UI/UX design experience

• Working knowledge of graphic design 

• REST API development

• Relational databases such as MySQL

• Agile and test-driven development best practices

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize web pages for security and responsiveness

• Understanding of network diagnostics and analytical tools

CERTIFICATIONS (Preferred):

• Web Developer Certificate preferred

• SAP Fiori Developer Certificate preferred

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read information.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT -Employee must be able to use a telephone, computer, keyboard, printer, copy machine, Microsoft Word, Excel

SALARY: $80,000 to $94,300/yr.  (depending on experience offered)
