Retail Supervisor

S UMMARY

The Compass Sports Retail Supervisor is responsible to drive retail sales in all outlets by developing sales initiatives, strategic visual merchandising, and training of associates to become expert salespersons.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Job Duties include although are not limited to:

  • Receiving and ticketing merchandise in all areas, informing Director of Outdoor Pursuits of re-order needs and ensuring items are fully stocked.

  • Creating personalized guest sales experience through leading the sales teams in each outlet to achieve revenue goals.

  • Be a role model and mentor in exceeding guest expectations, creative visual merchandising, and develop cross selling strategies.

  • To be an expert in features and benefits of all retail brands within the hotel and create sales strategies to increase average units per sale in each outlet.

  • Effectively communicate hot and slow sellers to retail manager and inventory specialist.

  • Work with inventory specialist for efficient receiving of all merchandise.

  • The Retail Supervisor must become familiar with all services and standards within the hotel.

  • Must be able to create visual merchandising displays with retail sales team.

  • Develop sales strategies which will increase average dollar and units per sale.

  • Mentor sales team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals.

  • Effective communication with Retail Manager and Inventory Specialist

  • A role model for creating personalized guest sales experience using the guest name, with a smile and eye contact along with taking full ownership of simple guest requests.

  • Competent with cashier functions in all outlets. Assist with month end inventories.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school or equivalent education required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • One to two years’ experience in a luxury hotel preferred

  • Two to three years’ retail experience

  • Strong emphasis in customer service

  • Exceptional guest recovery skills

  • Must possess a positive attitude

  • Must be willing to participate in a learning environment

  • Must integrate company values throughout all interactions

  • Must be dependable and available to work within the resort on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands

  • Must be able to pass all binding indemnification test from all ski manufactures in skier services

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be able to lift twenty pounds on a regular basis. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
