UPMC East is hiring a full-time Invasive Cardiac Technologist to join our team of excellent imaging professionals! Qualified candidates can receive up to a $10,000.00 sign on bonus!

UPMC East is currently hiring a fulltime Invasive Cardiac Technologist to work four 10-hour shifts per week. This position will also have rotating night/weekend on-call responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Administers contrast under the direction of the procedure physician.

  • Demonstrate proper positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all diagnostic and interventional procedures.

  • Exhibits a clear understanding of correct patient preparation, equipment operations and patient monitoring systems.

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity and respect.

  • Demonstrates competency in functioning in the first assist position.

  • Ensures all images within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through the PACS, and are properly networked to appropriate electronic record for archival and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the procedures performed.

  • Practices with attentiveness to radiation safety for the patient as well as others in the procedure room including appropriate use of lead shielding and monitoring devices. Assures documentation of patient radiation exposure in electronic record.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS).

Licenses and Certifications:

  • ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology OR ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
