Specifically, we are engaged in research, development and manufacturing of both OTC and Rx branded products and specialty generic products.


We have an immediate opening in Monmouth Junction, NJ for a HVAC Facilities Mechanic. This is a 1st shift position.


The HVAC Facilities Mechanic is responsible for Maintenance and Operations support, including but not limited to: daily monitoring, repair and preventative maintenance (PM) activities on all types of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, critical systems and facility equipment in order to keep it in proper and effective operating condition. She/he provides a wide range of highly skilled refrigeration, air conditioning, and mechanical duties required for the installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of equipment and systems in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Standards.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Primary duties/responsibilities


* Responsible for all aspects of HVAC and refrigeration equipment maintenance while complying with cGMPs, SOPs, and FDA requirements

* Performs routine and complex work related to troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade of HVAC and refrigeration equipment; Identifies, repairs, maintains, installs and/or replaces HVAC systems and equipment in order to ensure a proper and efficient working unit

* Assists in performing root cause analysis on equipment failures to support investigations; Diagnoses causes of problems and/or failures in heating/cooling/refrigeration systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs; Inspects all systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending PM

* Assists in the validation of existing and new equipment

* Requisitions parts and appropriate material, as needed

* Adheres to all plant safety policies and procedures

* Works extra hours or weekends as required by management to meet demands of schedule and emergency needs

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED


2-year technical school diploma in the HVAC or mechanical/electrical field AND minimum 4 years experience handling and servicing HVAC equipment REQUIRED


* Extensive hands on knowledge of all types of HVAC and refrigeration equipment REQUIRED

* Universal chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) recovery certification REQUIRED

* Low pressure Black Seal boiler license PREFERRED - Troubleshooting experience REQUIRED

* Current working knowledge of electrical and plumbing trades including the ability to interpret blueprints, technical manuals and specifications REQUIRED

* Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental policies, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, etc. REQUIRED

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office REQUIRED

* Ability and willingness to work additional hours as required by business needs REQUIRED

* Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience A PLUS
