Hirschbach Motor Lines Trailer Rebuild Technician - Monmouth, IL in Monmouth, Illinois

Hirschbach is seeking Trailer Rebuild Technicians at our Monmouth, IL Trailer shop! At Hirschbach you will complete preventative maintenance and minor repairs on one of the newest and fully featured fleets. Come join our talented team of Technicians!

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform standard inspections of trailer components to identify defects, wear, and potential issues

  • Diagnose standard mechanical and electrical problems in trailers and implement effective solutions

  • Diagnose, repair, or replace standard suspension components for optimal performance and safety

  • Diagnose, repair, or replace standard air brake system components to ensure proper functionality and compliance

  • Identify the root cause of basic failures and conditions in trailer components and systems and perform necessary repairs

  • Diagnose, repair, or install telematics systems to enhance trailer tracking and monitoring capabilities

  • Repair and replace slider box components to ensure proper operation

  • Conduct repairs on trailer roofs and floors to maintain structural integrity

  • Patch and repair side rail and backer components to prevent further damage

  • Replace bottom rail sections as required for trailer safety and integrity

  • Proficiently perform welding tasks as required for trailer repairs and modifications

  • Understand and adhere to warranty requirements for trailer repairs, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and guidelines

  • Work in strict accordance with all federal and company compliance guidelines, including safety regulations and DOT requirements

  • Other duties as assigned

    Work Environment

    The duties required of a Hirschbach Trailer Rebuild Technician typically takes place in a variety of locations from the repair shop to outdoor environments, and potentially in inclement weather conditions. Noise and temperature extremes may be encountered.

    Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 6:00pm-2:30am

  • Sunday - Wednesday, 8:00pm-6:30am

    Pay & Benefits  

  • $20/hr - $36/hr based on experience

  • $2/hr shift premium for 2nd shift positions

  • $1,200/annual tool allowance

  • $1,200/annual CDL A stipend

  • Boot allowance

    Talent Requirements & Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent in education

  • Previous experience as a Trailer Repair Technician or similar role preferred

  • Previous experience with DOT regulations is preferred

  • Welding skills preferred

  • Valid Driver’s Lincense

  • Basic computer skills as it applies to diagnostic tooling
