Maintenance Technician, Moncure, NC

General Shale company is the largest producer of brick and sustainable building solutions in North America. We are in search for a Maintenance Technician to help support our Moncure, NC commercial brick plant operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines including motors, pneumatics, hydraulics and conveyors using diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.

  • Utilizes troubleshooting skills to locate sources of problems in production equipment using all senses, measuring and testing equipment.

  • Fabricates repair parts and repairs machinery using common machine shop/fabrication equipment.

  • Fabricates and installs new equipment using common machine shop/fabrication equipment.

  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories anticipating future needs.

  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communication actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Provides mechanical maintenance guidance to plant operations personnel.

  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.

APPLICANTS SHOULD POSSESS AND DEMONSTRATE A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • General Fabrication / Welding

  • General Electrical

  • Pneumatics

  • Hydraulics

  • General Building Maintenance

  • Equipment Troubleshooting

  • Ability to operate forklifts, hoist, and aerial lifts

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School degree (or equivalent)

  • 3-5 years maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Majority of the time is spent standing, walking, stooping, reaching, and bending. The candidate must be capable of lifting to 75lbs.

Job Type: Full Time, some overtime required
