Sea Fox Boat Company is an industry leading, saltwater fishing boat manufacturer who is looking for a talented upholstery shop supervisor.  

Job Description:

  • The Upholstery Shop Supervisor is responsible for participating in and supervising others in all aspects of Sewing and cutting operations, which includes cutting fabric, preparing items to be sewn, sewing, as well as monitoring the quality of both the product and the sewing process at every step.

  • The Upholstery Shop Supervisor oversees the productivity and performance of those who are on their team to ensure that the product has been cut to the standard specification and the sewing goals are being met. The supervisor has a complete mastery of the functions and tasks involved in, and is proficient in floor operations tasks adjacent to sewing, such as cutting and quality of its product

What You'll Be Doing:

  •  Preparing items to be sewn and organizing items in all stages of sewing production.

  •  Lead training and mentoring seamstress and cutting staff.

  •  Ensure the team is productive, efficient, and producing good quality work.

  •  Multi-task and be comfortable in a fast pace, manufacturing environment

  •  Identify employee training needs and assist in employee development

  •  Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  •  Meet production deadlines by working with team to ensure products are made correctly and with good quality and meet production goals

  •  Understand quality requirements and how this position affects quality: on time delivery, material tracking, and meeting customer requirements

  • Utilize, prepare & maintain sewing and CNC machines

  • Make sure area is clean at the end of the day

What you should know/experience you should have:

  • Industrial sewing experience - at least 3 years - REQUIRED

  • Able to make and read patterns and able to work with leather, vinyl and foam rubber

  • Knowledgeable in the areas of material cutting, sewing, upholstery, and foam assembly

  • Lead by example

  • Must be detail oriented and quality minded, ensuring quality standards are consistently met in a timely manner.

  • Must be able to stand for most of the day.

What will impress us:

  • Experience sewing in marine or manufacturing facility
