Senior EH&S Specialist (Environmental) – Monaca, PA
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you who is capable of successfully executing strategic and tactical Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) plans to support environmental compliance for the Monaca Site. You will ensure compliance, coordination, and continuous improvement of environmental programs and projects. This includes providing leadership on all aspects of environmental standards by reviewing applicable standards and interpreting associated requirements to the site and advising site management of compliance concerns. Additionally, you will develop strategies and programs to ensure compliance to new federal, state or local regulations.
Formula for Success
Leading, maintaining and monitoring existing environmental programs while optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of these programs.
Counselling the site(s) leadership teams on taking recommended actions to address EHS matters and compliance concerns.
Interfacing with State and Federal Regulatory Agencies on permit applications, permit negotiations, agency inspections, enforcement issues and reports.
Identifying EHS issues and seeking opportunities for improvement and driving strategic decisions for the site / business.
Submitting various agency and internal environmental reports and maintaining appropriate environmental related documentation.
Implementing and maintaining the Title V / (MACT, NESHAPS) air permitting, wastewater (NPDES), EPCRA, Waste, SPCC, LDAR, Potable Water, and PA Storage Tank programs. Including the reporting and administration of related electronic systems.
Successfully engaging within the organization, developing effective working relationships with site management, employees, and the EHS community to drive continuous improvement in environmental performance
Coordinating and collaborating with the Expert Services Teams on the development of processes and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.
Supporting the Site’s Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program(s) (RMP) – examples include Participating in Project Reviews to perform environmental evaluations as part of Management of Change, Maintaining electronic compliance for RMPESUBMIT
Providing field presence and daily support to include, but not limited to, reinforcing a culture of behavior-based safety, field audits/inspections, and coordinating/tracking findings. Additionally, you will work with site management to resolve areas of non-conformance.
Your basic computer skills (ex: spreadsheets, word processing, database management) will be essential as you submit various agency and internal environmental reports and maintain appropriate environmentally related documentation. You will also use these skills to coordinate the waste management program, including reporting and oversight of the on-site service provider(s) and for implementing and operating EHS standardized processes and administration of related electronic systems such as the Environmental Management System (Dakota) to ensure EHS tasks are identified and completed.
Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
Degree in Environmental, EHS or Engineering
Minimum 10 years of environmental work experience in operations with previous site/plant experience required
Strong leadership, collaborative and results driven
Demonstrated track record of manufacturing achievement in the critical success areas of EH&S, cost reduction, continuous improvement and application of leading edge methods and technologies.
Track record of environmental compliance and creating continuous improvement in environmental management systems and performance.
Excellent analytical/problem solving skills with ability to analyze complex technical, operational data and develop effective solutions.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with people.
