Shrub Oak International School Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - PT 3pm-11pm in Mohegan Lake, New York

Shrub Oak International School is the new benchmark in autism education. We are a private day and boarding school in northern Westchester County, serving the needs of an international coed population of children, adolescents and young adults on the autism spectrum. Shrub Oak is a school where each student is respected as an individual and surrounded by experts who care and work to bring out each student’s greatest strengths. Our curriculum brings together the most advanced and successful evidence-based clinical and academic approaches in ASD education to prepare our students for independent adult life and employment. Offering two distinct educational programs, with both day and boarding options, Shrub Oak truly is a school like no other.

Reporting to the Director of Health and Wellness, the LPN is a year round position, serving as an integral part of Shrub Oak’s comprehensive health and wellness program. They employ an evidence-based, student-centric approach to providing high-quality, proactive direct and indirect nursing, medical and overall proactive wellness care to our students. The LPN provides front-line support for the daily operations of the health and wellness program (both on and off campus), guides and mentors students, assists with emergency response procedures, and collaborates with all members of the Shrub Oak staff. The LPN builds trusting relationships with students, families, the community and other medical service providers, while representing Shrub Oak International School in a respectful, competent manner.  A summary of the role and its requirements follows:

Education and Experience

  • Graduated from a licensed practical nursing program; licensed as NYS LPN in good standing 

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an LPN; experience in pediatrics preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to work within the scope of practice for as an LPN , when supervisor is not physically present on-site

  • Experience working with adolescents and young adults on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities is preferred

  • Drivers License preferred

Pay: $45/hour + Competitive Benefits

Shift: Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 3pm - 11pm
