Role overview

The primary responsibility of the Program Manager is to successfully lead the delivery of programs of work for our key Automotive clients.

This will require engaging with key stakeholders, both external and internal, to understand the overall business drivers and outputs to be realized for the programs, and leading our multi-disciplinary teams to deliver these outputs within the budgets and timelines agreed.

Internally, it involves the management and oversight of the delivery teams with respect to technical content, budget, change management, quality, and safety.

The Program Manager is also responsible for growing the account through relationship management with the client, identifying growth opportunities and supporting Sales Account Managers with technical proposals.

The project teams will typically comprise a broad range of engineering disciplines such as System, Validation & Testing, Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineers and other specialists.

You will be responsible and accountable for the overall successful technical and commercial delivery of your program and the projects within.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure successful delivery of Contract requirements;

  • Manage revenue, cost and profitability of the program/portfolio;

  • Connect and regular governance with the Business Unit heads and other key stakeholders in the Customer’s organization;

  • Together with the Sales Account manager, work collaboratively with the Customer leadership to ensure goals of engagement are fulfilled, new ideas are discussed and workstream expansion plans implemented;

  • Track and report Quality-Delivery-Cost-management-technology (QDCMT) KPIs

  • Collaborate with delivery teams working at multiple sites globally and implement framework to present integrated solutions to the Customers;

  • Work with Sales Account Managers, develop business strategies for the business units in alignment with Customers’ vision;

  • Work with Sales Account managers, develop business intelligence and create & strengthen differentiators to maximize outsourcing business share;

  • With Operations Management, identify resource fulfilment needs, incremental business requirements and collaborate with delivery teams to fulfil the requirements;

  • Help define project scope, goals and deliverables for the program;

  • Select, induct and train Project Managers and Project Leaders for his team.

Required Skills (Background and Technical Competency):

  • MSc Engineering Degree (a Software oriented background would be advantageous).

A formal Project Management education, ideally with accreditation such as PRINCE2 or APM, would be highly appreciated;

  • 3+ years experience in Project/Program Management related roles within Automotive industry;

  • Good understanding of Automotive project life cycle from concept, design, development, integration, acceptance, operations and maintenance;

  • Technical knowledge and understanding of various engineering disciplines and interfaces (solid experience in design and development of Automotive electronics systems would be advantageous);

  • Strong resource management capabilities;

  • Generation of bids and proposals;

  • Understanding of engineering governance, metrics and reporting experience.
