Library Systems & Services Visual Information Specialist in Mobile, Alabama

LAC Federal is seeking a Visual Information Specialist to support a federal information management program in the Mobile, Alabama area. The Specialist is responsible for providing advanced technical knowledge and analysis in highly specialized applications and operational environments. This role involves conducting high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that require extensive subject matter expertise for effective resolution. The Visual Information Specialist participates in all phases of software development, with a particular emphasis on planning, analysis, modeling, simulation, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation. They apply principles, methods, and knowledge of their functional area of expertise to address specific task order requirements, utilizing advanced mathematical principles and methods to tackle exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and mathematical applications. Additionally, the Visual Information Specialist designs and prepares technical reports, databases, studies, and related documentation, utilizing charts and graphs to record results and effectively communicates findings through presentations and briefings as required. Technical support includes providing advice on security requirements for highly specialized IT applications and preparing technical reports or other services as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technical Analysis: Provide advanced technical knowledge and analysis in highly specialized applications and operational environments, addressing exceptionally complex problems with extensive subject matter expertise.

  • Systems Design and Integration: Conduct high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, and documentation, ensuring alignment with task order requirements and organizational objectives.

  • Software Development: Participate in all phases of software development, focusing on planning, analysis, modeling, simulation, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation.

  • Application of Expertise: Apply principles, methods, and knowledge of the functional area of expertise to address specific task order requirements, utilizing advanced mathematical principles to solve exceptionally difficult technical problems.

  • Report Preparation: Design and prepare technical reports, databases, studies, and related documentation, utilizing charts and graphs to record results and communicate findings effectively.

  • Presentation Delivery: Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required by task orders, effectively conveying technical information and recommendations to diverse audiences.

  • Technical Support: Provide technical advice on security requirements for highly specialized IT applications, as well as preparing technical reports or providing other services as required by task orders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in a relevant field.

  • Minimum of 9-14 years of experience in a visual information specialist or related role.

  • Proficiency in systems analysis, design, integration, and documentation.

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and practices.

  • Advanced mathematical skills and ability to apply them to technical problem-solving.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of security requirements for highly specialized IT applications is preferred.
