Library Systems & Services Software Developer in Mobile, Alabama

LAC Federal is seeking a skilled Software Developer to support a federal government customer by contributing to the development, maintenance, and support of our corporate and local automated information systems (AIS). The Software Developer will be responsible for writing, modifying, debugging, and testing software for client applications, as well as providing technical support and user assistance. Additionally, you will be involved in all phases of software development, from planning and analysis to integration and acceptance testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write, modify, and debug software for client applications, utilizing source debuggers and visual development environments.

  • Develop code for single-threaded or user interface event-driven applications, including stand-alone applications and those that interact with servers or services.

  • Provide support for corporate and local AIS, including interfacing systems and related programs and queries.

  • Perform systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, programming, testing, documentation, and implementation of complex applications, including web applications.

  • Direct and participate in all phases of software development, emphasizing planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing, and acceptance.

  • Offer user support in response to software development and maintenance requirements.

  • Develop, maintain, and distribute necessary documentation, including technical reports, charts, graphs, and presentations.

  • Investigate and evaluate user hardware needs, preparing reports, requirements, and specification documents for computer equipment acquisitions.

  • Review resultant acquisitions to ensure compliance with requirements.

  • Configure microcomputer systems, communications, and related peripherals.

  • Maintain detailed work records for reporting to task leaders.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-3 years of experience in software development.

  • Thorough knowledge of administrative, business, and related IT systems concepts.

  • Proficiency in programming languages and development tools commonly used in client application development.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience with web application development.

  • Familiarity with systems analysis, evaluation, and design processes.

  • Knowledge of hardware configurations and specifications.
