CITY OF MOAB Field Maintenance in MOAB, Utah

General Purpose

Performs daily maintenance of baseball fields.

Reporting Relationships

Supervision received: Works under the immediate direction of the Field Maintenance Supervisor and general supervision of the Assistant Parks, Recreation & Trails Director.

Essential Functions

Performing hands-on tasks including: operation of a 4-wheeler; raking, digging and moving earth and heavy objects; laying out bases and chalk lines; cleaning restrooms; picking up trash; other duties as assigned.

Communicating maintenance and personnel issues to the Field Maintenance Supervisor in a clear and timely manner.

Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, with notice.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, employees, and the public.
  • Decision making capabilities.
  • Ability to work hard in physically challenging conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Grounds maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of Baseball / Softball
  • Familiarity with hand tools
Work Environment and Physical Demands

Tasks may entail muscular strain, including walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and lifting -- all in 100+ degree heat. Talking, hearing, and seeing are essential to performing job requirements. Common eye, hand, and finger dexterity is required for most essential functions.

Selection Guidelines
