POSITION PURPOSE:

Alone and in a team environment, perform or support installation, testing, verification, repair, diagnostic analysis, and calibration of various systems. Provide organizational, intermediate, and depot level troubleshooting and support of fielded systems. Provide training to subcontractors, vendors, and junior technicians. Read system drawings, blueprints, bills of materials, and technical manuals. Conduct performance measurement activities and report findings. Provide oral, written, on-site, or other troubleshooting assistance. Assist in preparing, reviewing, and managing technical documentation, instructions, procedures, and staging lists. Interface and coordinate with client personnel, subcontractors, or vendors to arrange diagnostics, repairs, and order and manage parts. Document and communicate results. Assist in conferences, meetings, or other problem-solving situations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, diagnose, maintain, and repair all electrical distribution systems and associated electrical equipment.

  • Remain in compliance with current National Electric Code

  • Inspect and test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches and switch gears.

  • Adhere to all quality and safety codes according to manufacturer recommendations.

  • Complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs.

  • Utilize Project Drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.

  • Survey electrical systems, circuits, and plans.

  • Install various types of electrical equipment, fixtures, raceway and cable tray systems.

  • Maintain service records and prepare cost material estimates.

  • Other related duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED Equivalent.

  • Valid State Electrical Journeyman's license.

  • At least (5) years' experience with integrated systems, as well as experience in installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic systems.

  • At least six (5) years of service dedicated to the execution of construction projects.

  • Knowledge of small engines and generators, solar charging systems, battery power systems, and cabling.

  • Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the required minimum qualifications.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must exhibit a high degree of interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately, follow procedures and schedules, and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and fit in with company culture and processes.

  • Effective professional oral and written communication skills.

  • Must possess a strong work ethic and values that are above-reproach.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work professionally and courteously with all levels of personnel.

  • Intermediate knowledge of NFPA 70 National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable ES&H laws and regulations.

Special Requirements:

  • Must pass pre-employment background check.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug testing.

  • Must have a valid driver license.

  • Ability to pass U.S. Government employment background check and acquire U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential card.

  • Must be willing/able to work in extreme conditions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in the following disciplines: remote hybrid power systems and SCADA / PLC controllers.

  • Experience with industry electronic test equipment.

  • Experience on Government Projects.

  • OSHA 30 hour is preferred, but not required.

  • Experience in controls and special systems to include automation systems is preferred.

  • Candidate must live near Moab, UT

  • Power generation experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Medium physical workload. Employees must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading. Also required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment. Specific physical requirements include, but are not limited to, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Maintain equilibrium to prevent falling when moving, walking, standing, kneeling or crouching – particularly on narrow, uneven, irregular, slippery surfaces, going up or down ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps poles or other objects using hands, arms, feet or legs.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions, noise sufficient to cause the worker to shout. The worker is subject to a variety of physical conditions, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electric current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions – fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases, or poor ventilation.
