DISTRICT XI HUMAN RESOURCE COUNCILPOSITION ANNOUNCEMENTPosition:Community Information & Referral SpecialistSchedule: Flexible up to 16 hours/week; Monday-Friday (between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)Compensation: $18.60/hr. plus retirement, paid holidays and paid time off.Opening Date: May 22, 2024Closing Date: Position is open until filled.Job Summary:This position is for a Community Information and Referral Specialist (CIRS) for the 2-1-1 telephone line. The specialist assesses the needs of the caller and then provides accurate information and makes referrals to appropriate resources in accordance with Inform USA standards. The CIRS will also screen callers for inclusion in the Missoula Coordinated Entry System and enter into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS), as time permits and assists in updating the resource database.Hours and days worked each week are scheduled by the Community Information and Referral Services Coordinator. The hours and days worked each week will vary.Minimum Qualifications:The knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this position are usually acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and at least two years of experience in guidance, advising, and/or working with low-income people.
