Job Description

We are currently seeking a Global Systems Administrator - Manufacturing to join our team of skilled professionals in our IT department based On-site in Mississauga , ON . This position reports to the Global Core Infrastructure Manager.

WHEN YOU JOIN US YOU WILL BE;

  • Work extensively with the SysAdmin team, service providers, engineering and manufacturing end-users to support and maintain IKO’s virtualized manufacturing/Rockwell computing environments.

  • Provide technical expertise and liaise between IKO’ s SysAdmin and engineering teams as well as outsourced vendors to execute the deployment & support of IKO’s manufacturing computing environments.

  • Lead the planning of and execution of scheduled changes, maintenance/patching, upgrades and daily administration of IKO’s manufacturing computing environments to meet the availability, performance, security, and functional requirements of the business.

  • Provide level 1/2 and above support (in person, by telephone, or via e-mail) in accordance with department SLA’s

  • Participate in and execute project plans manufacturing wide, while ensuring quality and meeting deadlines

  • Implement, administer, and monitor security state, standards, and policies of the manufacturing computing environment in accordance with IKO’s Information Security Framework

  • Responsible for the uptime, resiliency and performance of IKO’s manufacturing computing environments.

  • Manage, optimize and plan capacity as part of the SysAdmin team for IKO’s manufacturing computing environments.

  • Ensure creation and maintenance of documentation for technical procedures, policies, and standard processes related to IKO’s manufacturing computing infrastructure.

  • Respond to outside of business-hours emergency systems issues as part of an on-call rotation.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;

  • 7 years’ experience managing and maintaining manufacturing systems, processes and systems architecture in large enterprises

  • BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Process Automation or equivalent real world experience.

  • Effective leader of ideas and troubleshooting with a deep understanding of manufacturing capabilities and processes.

  • Manage the day to day operations of the manufacturing computing environments including downtime, reporting service levels, defining and tracking IT operational metrics and provide status to management

  • Working with the Backup Administrator help to maintain controls on data/system backups and recoverability via enterprise backup software.

  • Broad cross-industry manufacturing experience and Windows domain expertise – industrial manufacturing sector experience an asset

  • Ability to assess manufacturing/IT trends in order to develop and implement hardware and software standards for IKO’s manufacturing computing environment.

  • Management of manufacturing systems (Servers, Storage and related application delivery)

  • Solid understanding and experience working with VMWare ideally in a multi-site environment.

  • Collaborative team player who can effectively participate in departmental level meetings and positively influence outcomes.

  • Solid understanding of licensing models and practice, enterprise inventory tools, all to ensure compliance is maintained

  • As a project team member ability to execute and deliver complex projects with successful outcomes

  • Uphold 'best practice' standards as well as departmental policies and procedures

  • Excellent communication and presentations skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills
