Bombardier Inspector, Standard Room & Metrology in Mississauga, Ontario

In your role, you will:

  • Design, fabricate and check-out test fixtures for mechanical and electrical assemblies, using mechanical fasteners, machining, metal forming, fixtures, soldering, cabling, power supplies, and lab test equipment

  • Fabricate, verify functionality of, and check-out test fixtures, and mechanical and electrical assemblies

  • Select order and evaluate materials for remote instrumentation, based on specifications of the engineering departments, and based on specifications determined within the instrumentation test process.

  • Order and install equipment related to fixtures, assemblies and instrumentation, and maintain stock of regularly used materials and supplies.

  • Document procedures for testing of fixtures, assemblies and instrumentation.

As our ideal candidate,

  • The Candidate must possess a Certificate or Diploma in Metrology & Calibration or ASQ Certification as a Calibration Technician.

  • Three (3) or more years’ experience as an electro-mechanical technician in an R&D laboratory or production product development environment.

  • Laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance experience.

  • Medium volume assembly manufacturing experience.

  • Experience fabricating custom electrical and mechanical fixtures and assemblies.

  • Experience with electrical and mechanical part selection and evaluation.

  • Ability to read and understand product design and fabrication documentation.
