Job Summary
As a Financial Analyst you will be responsible for managing financial operations for various construction projects.
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Analyst to manage financial operations for construction projects, working closely with project managers to ensure effective financial tracking, planning, and reporting. This is a full-time, onsite, and a contract that is renewed on a semi-annual basis.
What You’ll Do
Develop and maintain financial tools for project tracking and initial planning
Generate monthly forecasts of project expenditures and report to the New Build Finance team
Oversee financial aspects of risk mitigation and change management
Proactively address potential issues and provide regular executive updates
What You’ll Need
Required:
Advanced proficiency in Excel, including power-pivots and managing extensive datasets
Experience with VLOOKUP, nesting formulas, and handling over 15,000 rows of data
Background in forecasting and managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a portfolio totaling approximately $120 million
Ability to explain monthly variances between actuals and forecasts
Proficient in project budget reporting and maintaining detailed Excel reporting models
Skilled in financial analysis techniques such as spend curves, burn-rates, and rate-volume analysis
Experience liaising with IT supply chain departments for procurement process insights
Strong presentation skills and ability to represent IT financial interests within the New Build Finance organization
Familiarity with a Project Management work environment and problem-solving with minimal supervision
Bachelor's degree in Financial Accounting & Planning
Minimum of 3 years in IT Project financial management
At least 4 years of experience in Financial Accounting
Preferred:
Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing teams
In-depth knowledge of project management practices
Agile in adapting to changing priorities and aligning activities with project objectives
Analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of operating under tight deadlines
Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and presentation skills
Strong organizational skills, including meticulous attention to detail and multitasking capabilities
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with Power BI, Workfront, and JIRA is advantageous
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
