Quentin Burdick Job Corps Center (Human Learning Systems, LLC) Career Training Manager in Minot, North Dakota

The Career Training Manager position provides instructional support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor, Human Learning Systems. The Job Corps program is a federally funded residential training program. Job Corps mission is to educate and train youth ages 16-24 for successful careers in the nations fastest-growing industries.

Summary of Duties:

The Career Training Manager isresponsible for training, supervising, and directing outcomes for the Academic and Career Technical Training Departments.

Significant Responsibilities:

  • Manages a rigorous Academic and Career Technical Training program that delivers quality services to students, leading to their employability and job readiness.
  • Communicates with and updates the Counseling (CDSS) Manger on the status of the program and determine educational policies according to expectations.
  • Submits weekly reports outlining progress, problems, solutions, and contemplated changes in the department.
  • Monitors to validate the center has a curriculum for every training area by reviewing the lesson plans developed, submitted, and implemented by the instructors.
  • Monitors students participation and performance and establishes common linkages to enhance the program.
  • Co-chairs the Reasonable Accommodation Committee working with the Special Education Instructor to review IEPs and accommodations.
  • Develops intervention strategies with staff and students to remediate behaviors.
  • Monitors statistical performance and student accountability for classes.
  • Develops and maintains a list of substitute instructors and tutors.
  • Develops corrective action plans as needed for program areas not meeting goals.
  • Reviews student absences and attendance for accuracy of documentation and work with staff to create interventions for students as needed.
  • Monitors ESPs to validate they are done accurate and completed and in a timely manner.
  • Conducts classroom observations monitoring for effectiveness of instruction and classroom management.
  • Delivers timely coaching and conducts employee evaluations when scheduled

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Education discipline and four years of relevant experience. Masters Degree and state teaching certification preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check!
  • As a Federal Contractor, while North Dakota law may allow individuals to consume marijuana if they have a qualifying medical condition, marijuana is still illegal under federal law. A positive drug screen with a medical marijuana card will result in an offer not being made.
