Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will manage a team of manufacturing engineers, production planners and technicians that support the production of Engineered Equipment’s product lines. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will direct and coordinate the activities of the engineering department to improve the manufacturing operations through design, operating rate improvement, scrap reduction, ergonomic improvements, and tooling improvements. Coordinate the local installation, set-up, and overall readiness of new projects.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development of team members ensuring positive and effective cooperation with cross-functional team members to ensure business objectives around safety, quality, efficiency, and new product development are met.

  • Directs department activities to design equipment needed to improve production.

  • Resolves problems using methodical data driven solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.

  • Analyzes production trends, human resource needs, and customer demand to plan department activities.

  • Confers with management, production, and sales staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and production capability for new and existing products.

  • Design support for centrifugal pumps and membrane element housings.

  • Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or interdepartmental relations.

  • Provides direction and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations and develops recommendations accordingly.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Demonstrated leadership of capital / continuous improvement projects focused on meeting corporate and departmental goals

  • Effective at developing and managing a project plan to achieve desired results

  • Proven ability to achieve required objectives through the leadership of others

  • Strong problem solving / troubleshooting experience

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, self-directed, and capable of interacting and communicating with all levels within the organization.

  • Ability to multitask and lead / prioritize multiple projects

Desired Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering

  • At least 5 years of manufacturing engineering work experience

  • Demonstrated people leadership work experience

Working Conditions

  • Computer system data terminal

  • Quiet production environment utilizing Lean Manufacturing Principle

  • approximately 5% Travel
