Key skills for the Board Layout Lead Hardware Engineer position include the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of design disciplines for rigid, rigid-flex, flex printed board fabrication

  • Knowledge of Digital, Analog, Power Supply, and RF circuit design technologies

  • Knowledge of and experienced in HDI principles utilizing microvia, blind and buried via structures

  • In-depth understanding of DFX principles, especially involving DFM, DFT, DFA, and DFF

  • Proficient in using TeamCenter for WIP, archiving and releasing designs and containers

Requires good oral/written communication and organizational skills as this task requires a methodical approach for process development, implementation and problem solving. Projects may have International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Commercial Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Must understand restrictions and follow procedures.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.

  • Printed Board (PB) and Printed Board Assembly (PBA) design in Mentor EXP/DXD CAD tools

  • Utilization of Valor to run PB fabrication checks and Mentor CES

  • Utilizing and updating Board Layout metrics template on a regular basis (used for estimates and earned value)

  • Ability to lead a team consisting of multiple designers from different sites to produce PB/PBA data

  • Working with various Board Layout personnel to provide input on APs and AGs as required

  • Interfacing with internal and external customers on development of PB/PBA data

  • Design experience for the aerospace industry

WE VALUE

  • 15 + years of experience in board layout design of schematics, PB and PBAs

  • Ability to drive process improvements and productivity gains through use of collaborative team methods

  • IPC CID certification a plus

  • Knowledge of Industry standards including IPC, ANSI and ASME

  • Requires background in electrical hardware design and or electrical design layout

  • Experience in the design and layout of commercial/military/space avionics multi-layer boards
