Description Job Purpose: Schedule all future appointments as ordered by the provider following a patient's visit to our facilities and schedule all external referrals for specialty procedures Essential Functions:In order to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily and regular attendance is required. The responsibilities listed below are representative of the primary essential functions required; additional duties may be assigned. Schedule all lab, procedure, office visit, subspecialty , infusion, manometry and radiology appointments for patients in person and over the phone Schedule referrals to other specialists that include surgeons, pelvic floor center and genetic counselors in person and over the phone. Explain tests and preparation instructions and answer questions from patients Record patient appointments in NextGen Practice Management Document appointment information on order in NextGen Electronic Health Record Provide patient with copy of orders with dates and times of tests Send copies of orders to hospital as needed Receive incoming calls from patients or referring clinics and schedule accordingly. Make outbound calls to schedule patients Document patient insurance information. Monitor database folder in NextGen Electronic Health Record. Data entry of referrals into NextGen Electronic Health Record. Contact referring providers for medication orders and/or clarification of referral orders. Contact patients to re-schedule appointments when needed. Send letters to patients via mail or patient portal Coordinate interpreters for scheduling purposes and appointments. Provide great customer service to internal and external customers. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs Supervisory Responsibilities:None Qualification Requirements: The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform the essential functions of this position. Associate's degree or higher preferred. Previous customer service experience is required. 1-2 years of scheduling experience is preferred.
