RBC Software Engineer in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Job Summary Job Description Software Engineer, RBC Capital Markets, LLC, Minneapolis, MN: Assess, research, and analyze business, technical and system needs in order to resolve business systems issues by recommending technology solutions that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs. Creates new and modifies existing database structures. Spearheads joint technical design sessions (internally and with SaaS vendor) via technical iteration of design, development, documentation, testing and deployment. Provide consulting services on new and strategic initiatives (medium to large of varying complexity) and develops feasibility studies and proposals for senior management and executive decisions on large complex projects. Research emerging trends/best practices and determines implications of proposed solutions on meeting business unit strategy. Determines best mix of development, interfacing applications, third party vendor solutions to meet business requirements and project objectives. Full time employment, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or equivalent in closely related field and 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate related work experience. Must have 5 years of experience in software design, development, testing, and implementation experience with technology projects and support spread across multiple disciplines of development, project management, business/systems analysis, and vendor management. Must have 3 years of experience in: Tier 2 or 3 production triage/troubleshooting; OS & Environments: Windows or Mainframes; Cloud & SaaS Platforms/Frameworks: AWS or Azure; Databases: MS-SQL Server; Software Tools used for Development: Microsoft Office Suite, Visual Studio, Visio, ETL - SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS), TFS, Git, Jira & Confluence, Tableau, Mainframe Tools (Endevor/Zeke/DevOps), FTP/SFTP, OAuth, SSO, SOAPUI, Postman, or SOAP & REST API's; Programming & Query Languages: C#.Net, C++, ASP.NET, SQL, COBOL, or PowerShell script; and, Web Technologies: HTML or JavaScript.
