We invite you to forge ahead with us.We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with experience in mentoring junior staff in geotechnical investigations, analyses, reporting, and construction observation. Business development for existing and new clients will be an integral part of the position. In this role you will be a critical part of our business development team and interact with existing clients and work to bring in new clients. You will plan, design, and direct geotechnical engineering projects including client contact, field exploration program, report preparation and coordination of laboratory services. What You Will Do: * You will be responsible for achieving revenue goals, profit margins and developing a team. * Building a highly efficient, self-sustainable team of professionals with strong client focus * Ensuring a high-quality project is delivered to our clients * Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution * Projects range from building foundation explorations to transportation projects requiring bridge, slope evaluation/stabilization and retaining wall foundation recommendations and pavement design. * Prepare cost estimate for moderate to complex Geotechnical and Materials Testing projects * Prepare geotechnical reports including maps, drawings, aerial photographs and soil boring logs * Formulate field exploration, sampling, and material testing approach to address specific project issues * Calculate cost estimates and judge the feasibility of projects or foundation systems based upon the subsurface conditions including dewatering, excavation of weak soils, rock excavation and settlement risk * Provide advice and consult on construction project issues related to subsurface conditions and verify conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards; and participate in business development activities. Competencies: * Honesty and integrity, sense of ownership, collaboration, persistence, pro-activity, organization, and planning are all expectations the person in this role. * Possessing a strong understanding of the construction industry in general, and construction materials testing and special inspection services specifically * Setting clear expectations for the team and individual team members, and creating a culture of accountability * Project management - tracking scope, schedule, quality, and budget * Business Development - Identifying, attracting, and securing a new, diverse client base What You Will Bring: * Minimum a four-year degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field * 8+ years of experience providing geotechnical engineering services * Serving as a Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in the state of Minnesota with an existing network of construction industry related clients * The successful candidate must possess a valid driver s license along with a clean driving record and can work in a variety of locations. * The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains associated with construction projects is required.
