Fairview Health Services RN-Adult Acute Dialysis in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

The Acute Adult Dialysis RN will provide direct clinical dialysis care to inpatient acute patients, hemodialysis patients, peritoneal dialysis patients and CRRT at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (East Bank) in Minneapolis, MN.

About this position:

  • This position will work 60 hours every two weeks, 10 hour shifts, D/E, every other weekend

Responsibilities Job Description

The Dialysis RN assesses patients, initiates dialysis therapies, continues on-going assessments of patient during dialysis, provides interventions as needed during treatment. The RN works closely with nephrologists, fellows, residents, nephrology PAs to assure quality dialysis therapy, and holistic care of ESRD patients.

The RN also provides hemodialysis treatments and PD treatments, takes call after hours on rotational basis so there is 24/7 dialysis services coverage.

Qualifications

Required:

  • MN RN Licensure

  • Basic Life Support through Health Care Providers

  • Minimum two years medical surgical RN experience in a hospital setting.

Preferred:

  • BSN

  • Dialysis, pediatric or adult critical care experience is preferred

  • Certification in related specialty

  • EKG, acute care experience and ESRD knowledge and critical thinking skills are important to be successful in this position.
