Fairview Health Services Registered Nurse (RN) – Rehab in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Rehab department at our University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC) West Bank Campus in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Schedule: This position will be working 0.7 FTE (56 hours every two weeks) on the Day/Evening shift. This position is 8 hours and will work an every other weekend rotation.

About our Rehab department at the University of Minnesota Medical Center West Bank:

  • Serves multiple diagnoses including neuro, ortho, oncology, amputee, spinal cord injury, transplant, etc. Primarily adults, however, see adolescents ages 13+.

  • All core staff are required to pursue a rehab specialty, including geriatrics, neurology, lymphedema, swallow, NDT, etc. This supports a robust learning environment for newer clinicians, students, and lifelong learners.

  • Approximately 50 therapy and tech staff at the 2 post-acute units

  • Highly coordinated between all fields along with MD/Physiatrist, rehab nursing, social work, dietary, etc., with the primary goal to get patients home.

  • 30 beds of Inpatient Rehab.

Responsibilities Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in our Rehab department, you will be responsible for:

  • Demonstrates Clinical Competence in the utilization of FIM Instruments.

  • Effectively collaborates with all members of the interdisciplinary patient care team.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of rehabilitation principles and supports the philosophy of inpatient rehabilitation care.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota RN License.

  • Completion of Rehab Nursing Certification within 24 months of hire.

  • BLS (basic life support)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of RN experience.

  • Experience in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting and/or 1-year rehab nursing experience.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
