Overview

Manage overall treatment plan for unassigned hospital patients and coordinate provision of care by other medical/surgical specialists as needed through the referral of patients to medical specialists, social services or other professionals as appropriate. Complete comprehensive health and physical evaluation of patient, including differential diagnosis of patient’s condition, formulating patient evaluation plan, formulating, implementing, and monitoring treatment plan and providing consultation services to other subspecialty services. Serve as liaison with family and other physicians/programs. Ensure patient’s primary care physician is kept informed of medical condition/treatment throughout hospital stay. Integrate discharge planning throughout the patient’s stay.

Admit patients for hospital stays. Diagnose, treat, or provide continuous care to hospital inpatients. Prescribe medications or treatment regimens to hospital inpatients. Conduct discharge planning and discharge patients. The type of medical care is: Internal Medicine. The types of patients treated are: Adults.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have at least a M.D. D.O. or foreign degree equivalent. The qualified candidate must have or be eligible for a Minnesota medical license. The qualified candidate must be Board Eligible/Board Certified (BE/BC) in Internal Medicine, or be in final year of ACGME accredited program leading to certification.
