Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Minneapolis, MN Position: Assembler/Painter - 2nd shift Team: Assembly Primary Objective of Position: A Painter is responsible for the preparation and painting of parts and materials from beginning to finish coat. A Painter works within internal and external specification standards to achieve a high quality final product. Pay Types: Voluntary weekday and weekend overtime. Saturday is paid at time and a half, Sundays are paid at double time! Job Type: Monday Friday, 3:30 p.m. 12:00 a.m. Full-time (Union) Major Areas of Accountability: Mixes and prepares painting materials, such as filler, primer, paint varnish enamel, lacquer, epoxies and other similar materials. Prepares parts to be painted by cleaning, sandblasting, filling washing, shellacking and priming. Reviews specifications from manufacturing information sheets, order forms and government specifications. Paints with appropriate spray gun or brush. Responsible for scheduling, maintaining accurate shelf life inventories, auditing paint inventories, and other duties related to paint classification in a timely, accurate and safe manner. Works in other areas of the Assembly Team Matrix, may assemble parts and machinery, procure lumber, shipping cartons, shipping supplies and tools. May prepare and package shipments in boxes, skids or crates. Completes necessary QA/Customer documentation. Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane. Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day to day work. Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.
