CUHCC serves over 10,000 patients a year with 50,000 visits annually. The patient population comes from over 12 different racial and ethnic groups that span five continents. We provide medical care, dental care, mental health care, legal, advocacy for domestic abuse and sexual assault, and much more-all in one place. CUHCC is a Federally Qualified Health Center and is in the Office of Academic Clinical Affairs, a department within the University of Minnesota. The Nursing Electronic Health Records Support Analyst (ESA) position is responsible for developing and improving clinical workflows in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, training and supporting end users. Some goals are to support efficiencies partner with clinical leaders to improve clinical decision support (CDS) tools/strategy team with others in the areas of quality, clinical and various other Health Information Technology projects. Working arrangement: Hybrid position, which is subject to change in the future based on business needs. Essential Functions Develops Clinical Workflows and Clinical Decision Support - 40% Supports the development, improvement, documentation and training of standard workflows and procedures/protocols for the clinical practice Teams with service line directors/managers as well as Super Users about service specific clinical workflows, clinical decision support (CDS) tools, and the training of these workflows and CDS tools Supports implementation of EHR upgrades and new features as they align with CUHCC's initiatives Performs or trains/delegates clinical chart audits to validate workflows, data and reports, as needed Completes root cause analysis of clinical workflows to identify trends and opportunities for improvement Supports and coordinates workflow and CDS projects/workgroups as assigned Leads clinical workflow and/or clinical decision support projects, serving as a subject matter expert Co-designs and Delivers End User Training and Support - 25% Co-designs and supports a continuous training program using Epic Signal to reduce burnout, improve efficiency and optimize care Provides initial/ongoing training and elbow support with observation and feedback to new and existing clinical staff optimize health records and other appropriate application use such as ELLA, Zoom, Intranet, Box, Google, Regulatory Sites (MNPMP and Clozapine REMS), MIIC and other external Epic applications such as Hennepin Link and Fairview. Provides Electronic Health Record (EHR) Analyst (ESA) Support - 25% Identifies, develops and implements SmartTools Manages incoming ticket requests (Smartsheet, SuperUser Zoom Channel, etc.) Builds and manages Clinic Preference Lists (orderables such as labs, medications, procedures and level of service codes) Coordinates Site Specialist specific tasks such as in-basket pool messages and workqueues. Delegates specific tasks/security to qualified subject matter experts and/or manager/supervisors to assist with clinic operations. Example: password resets, lot manager and preference lists. Collaborates with other EHR Support Analysts team members to improve the use of the EHR system, ensuring it completely caters to the needs of end users in alignment with CUHCC's strategic plan and mission statement. Other Duties as Assigned - 10% Qualifications Required Qualifications BA/BS plus at least two years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal at least six years. Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota Experience using or supporting EPIC in a hospital or clinic setting Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting EHR end users in a healthcare sett ng Change management experience, preferably in implementing process or technology change in a healthcare organization CUHCC reserves the right to change or add duties to this position as long as the changes and/or additions are consistent with the job classification. **A negative TB test is required for this position and Hepatitis B vaccine is required.
