Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency MCTC Student Intern in Minneapolis, Minnesota

_SUMMARY:_

We are currently seeking an MCTC Student Internto join our Family Healthteam. This is a casual role that will work on-site (Schedule: day, evenings, and rotating weekends). /Due to being a casual position, there are no regularly scheduled hours or benefits for this position./ This position is a grant-funded position, that last for three to six months.

Purpose of this position:This position is an entry-level job that is typically used for students or unskilled workers to help them gain work experience. It may be used as an opportunity for on-the-job training. Each position supports a department by providing general services.

_RESPONSIBILITIES:_

  • Completes entry-level special projects as directed by staff
  • Provides back-up support in directing incoming calls and visitors
  • Makes photocopies and assembles packets of information
  • Stuffs envelopes, prepares outgoing letters for mailing, and prepares other packages for shipment
  • Stocks paper and supplies in common areas on a daily basis
  • Enters data using a computer keyboard
  • Maintains administrative logs
  • Maintains inventory and coordinates ordering of commonly used office and department supplies
  • Performs simple maintenance on office equipment within confines of the department
  • Files information such as invoices, forms, patient information, and reports according to the department’s filing system
  • Searches for information contained in files or on a computer database
  • Takes notes during rounds or meetings
  • Types various documents and/or minutes of meetings
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet the business needs of the organization

_QUALIFICATIONS:_

/Minimum Qualifications:/

  • High School diploma, GED, or current enrollment as a high school student
  • No minimum work experience is required

  • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience

/Preferred Qualifications:/

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word/Excel/Outlook) and/or similar office environment software programs
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to relate to people of various backgrounds
