Sun Country Airlines Manager Revenue Accounting in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description JOB SUMMARY The Manager of Revenue Accounting is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of revenue reporting from multiple sources. This role will manage critical aspects of the monthly financial close process, ensuring journal entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and timely to produce financial statements. This position will also be responsible for leading the Revenue Accounting team, which is responsible for accounts receivable and charter accounting. Other duties include vendor receivable handling, charter payment reconciliation, and bank deposits. The Manager of Revenue Accounting must be detail-oriented and be highly accurate with their work. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Compile and analyze financial information for the monthly preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations relating to charter revenue, billing reconciliation, and bank transactions in the escrow account. Manage the Revenue Accounting team, including assignment of work and review for all charter business, credit card receivable, and other accounts receivable activity. Process daily bank activity and remote check deposits. Process invoices for military charters, including fuel reconciliations. Coordinate with other Accounting departments to support information for tax filings. Perform duties required to support annual financial audits and financial SOX controls. Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis, investigate issues, and provide explanations. Apply accounting knowledge and critical thinking skills to diagnose and resolve accounting process or system issues. Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skills. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position will have two direct reports on the Revenue Accounting team. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in accounting 3+ years of accounting or related experience 2+ years of experience managing or supervising a team with increasing leadership responsibilities Demonstrated experience in Revenue accounting High attention to detail Excellent Excel skills Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, set clear objectives and handle multiple projects/tasks in a changing environment Ability to work independently and develop plans on how to solve for complex issues PREFERRED SKILLS Previous experience with Great Plains Travel or aviation-related experience WORK ENVIRONMENT This job primarily operates in a professional office environment.
